SEANCHOÍCHE (pronounced Shanna-Key-Huh) our storytelling night is coming back to Belfast on Friday, October 6th. The event is taking place at 7.30pm @ Banana Block, PortView Trade Centre, 310 Newtownards Rd, Belfast BT4 1GE.
The idea is that you come to the event if you want to hear a good story. You can come just to listen and be a spectator, or if you feel like telling a story, you can volunteer to do so.
The theme of the night of the 6th is 'HOME'. All stories told will revolve around this theme. Stories can be personal anecdotes based on your own experience, or the experience of someone in your life, they can be fictional pieces, they can be monologues, poetry or anything that you consider a story.
The event is NOT BYOB.
We will have arranged storytellers on the night, but if you get the urge to stand up and tell a story when you're at the event on the night, you are welcome to do so. Storytellers can contact hello@seanchoiche.com to let us know they are volunteering prior to the event.
20£ entry + booking fee. Max 2 tickets per booking.
A seanchaí is a traditional Gaelic storyteller/historian. We're all natural born storytellers, and often underestimate the value of a good story.
'Empathy is remembering that everybody has a story. Multiple stories.' - Kae Tempest
Tickets can be found here until they sell out.
